This is the story of the rise and fall of the famous Argentinian magician Miguel Quiroga.
Renowned for his incredible vanishing act, he can literally make anything disappear, including people. It is rumoured that he discovered the secret formula in an obscure book of magic which he found remaindered in a second-hand bookshop and subsequently stole. When he is contracted by a circus to perform this feat, he burns the book in a paranoic fit.
Years go by and his act becomes internationally acclaimed bringing to the artist both enormous prestige and untold wealth. Despite his fame the magician is haunted by the idea that another copy of the book might exist and thereby reveal his secret. He searches for the book in every city he visits, but never can find one. So he continues to live a tortured existence dreading the moment when someone will unearth his secret by bringing another copy of this evil book to light.
