Synopsis

The story takes place in the restless times of the end
of the sixteenth century. The resistance against the spanish catholic rule grew in the Netherlands and dissatisfaction led to a
mass assault of churches and cloisters.
Thousands of sculptures, symbols of the hated power, were beheaded and stolen. It was the start of an insurrection, which tried to knock down Spain in a sanguinary way, backed up by gentleman-farmers and other local rulers. Witch hunters wielded a real reign of terror.
The film follows a young man's track through a destroyed world in which only faith keeps him alive - in wonders which
finally come true.
