
A hotel room, a bed, a gun, a tired man. A finger pulls the trigger and the hammer hits an empty chamber. The time hasn't yet come. All the same Ian, the old Russian clown, doesn't want to go on living.
Loud shots ring out in the corridor and a man bursts into Ian's room to crash onto his bed.
His pursuers are armed and the old clown has to use his gun to defend himself. This survival reflex marks the start on a long chase. Especially as he is no longer alone. Lucas, the young priest who finds him wounded in the street, is also in danger. Along with anyone who comes near them since their pursuers leave a trail of bodies in their wake. Ian and Lucas don't know why these people are trying to kill them. But their only solution is to run.
As they flee, the two men get to know each other and discover that behind their obvious differences they share the same burden: the weight of their guilt. Their encounter may allow them to assume their past deeds and future choices. However, for that occur, their pursuers will have to leave them time. Instead, they step up the pressure and finally corner their prey.
From that point on, the struggle appears to be an uneven one. But the clown's smile isn't always innocent...
