Cycles is a chorus movie about transmission and identity, which depicts a Jewish family of three generations.
Frida, an Eastern-European Jewish woman of 75, is losing her memory and mixes past with present times. Judith, her daughter, has chosen not to work to raise her children. Divorced, facing simultaneously her younger son's departure and her mother's ageing, she wonders about her usefulness.
Concerning Simon, Frida's son, who shows an accurate sense for analyzing the society through his job of journalist, he does not grasp his daughter's blossoming nor his mother's ageing.
Frida comes back to her former apartment. While she thought she would find her husband, dead some years before, she meets Manou, her tenant, who's waiting for an important professional promotion. As she is 35 and pregnant, she has to face difficult choices.
The return to this flat, crossroads of their lives, will allow these characters to discover each other and themselves. At the end, they all reach the end of a cycle and see what their lives would have been if they had acted differently.
